Bluequartz Dovecot errors
In the Bluequartz users list you will hear a lot of talk about changing back to the old passwd system which uses flat files since the passwd db crashes. I can't help but feel this is a step backwards and a cowards way out of solving a problem. The real solution is a properly configured updated version of dovecot The Bluequartz Dovecot problem is that nobody ever read the conf file and stopped dovecot from starting way to many auth sessions via the "Double the children processes" system it employs. While I have notified the Bluequartz list about the Dovecot problem they have failed to produce a properly built version of Dovecot for the Bluequartz system they sell "GNU based Security and Anti-Spam software for" I notified the BlueQuartz users list in March of 2008 of this problem and even offered to distribute a free version of my build of the Special Bluequartz version of Dovecot however they refused to allow me to interfere in any way that might interfere with their software sales. They did however make one rpm using the version of dovecot that allows remote logins without a password. To my surprize they actually posted this for the entire group to automaticly install and hvae not updated it since. |
